Youth Sustainable Development International Summit

The Youth Sustainable Development International Summit originates from the United Nations Youth Development Programme, co-organised by the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) and Mytheast Youth Club. It aims to bring together representatives of foreign consulates in Hong Kong, political and business leaders, youth representatives who have participated in the Geneva training programme, local and international youth leaders, policy researchers, sustainable development practitioners, and industry stakeholders to jointly explore how Hong Kong can effectively implement the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The Summit will invite political, business, and academic leaders to serve as officiating guests and keynote speakers, reviewing the learning outcomes of UNYDP participants in Geneva, while engaging in in-depth dialogues on topics such as "Hong Kong's Sustainable Development Roadmap", "Youth Participation in Public Decision-Making", and "Green Finance and Social Innovation".
The event features panel discussions, youth keynote speeches, and interactive Q&A sessions, allowing participants to examine Hong Kong's opportunities and challenges in areas such as climate action, inequality eradication, inclusive education, and sustainable cities from both international and local perspectives. More importantly, the Summit is committed to providing an international platform for Hong Kong youth to articulate their insights and advocacy on global issues directly to policymakers and international experts, integrating youth voices into the sustainable development decision-making process. This fully demonstrates that Hong Kong youth are not only rooted in their local community but also embrace a global vision, actively contributing to global development and demonstrating the international responsibility of global citizenship. The 12-month Summit plan encompasses a variety of activities to continuously promote cross-sector collaboration and encourage youth to participate in global governance processes through concrete actions.
Through this Summit, we aspire to build a platform that connects international resources with local practices, empowering Hong Kong youth to become advocates and agents of change for sustainable development. We envision Hong Kong youth not merely as witnesses to global issues, but as active participants and contributors, working towards a fairer, more inclusive, and more resilient society, while showcasing to the world the international vision and sense of responsibility of Hong Kong youth in this new era.
